Apology + Gizz-dodo Recipe

Hi People!!
How have you all been? I first want to apologise for being MIA. I really want to be consistent with my blog posts and I have resolved to do so. So many things have happened to me all this time I went into ghostmode and I am grateful to God. Shout out to those of you who messaged to find out why I wasn't posting anything, I am grateful. Like I have said many times before I am here for you all and also to make you happy :D  *high five*

Today I am going to be sharing Gizz-dodo recipe and how to prepare it. On the journey to becoming a complete Alako , cooking is an essential skill. During Nysc , I took up a skill acquisition class and basically we were taught to make some snack and gizz-dodo was one of the things we were taught.
The skill acquisition class was the first time I had heard the name 'gizz-dodo'  talkess of eating it. It turns out that it is usually served at weddings but I have never eaten it at a wedding before anyway.
It is a really easy to make snack and can be served alongside spaghetti, rice......anything at all you like.
Yesterday was my friend's birthday and I thought to do something nice and I decided to make gizz-dodo for her. I used chicken and gizzard but that's just me. So here's the Recipe and preparation;

Recipe:
  • Plantain
  • Gizzard and chicken.
  • Green pepper
  • Spring onion, onion
  • Chili pepper (shombo), Bell pepper( tatashe)
  • Roughly blended tomato and pepper
  • Dry pepper, sweet corn (optional)
  • Seasoning
  • Vegetable oil
 Preparation
1. Wash your gizzard and chicken properly, season and put in a clean pot to boil.

2.While that is boiling wash the body of the plantain, peel and cut into cube shapes and fry.You don't want your plantain to be too brown, so fry lightly.

3. When the plantain is done frying, set aside and then take out the gizzard  and chicken from the pot and cut into cube shape too and lightly fry. Ensure you de-bone the chicken before cutting.
4. The next thing is to chop all the pepper, spring onion and stir fry. While stir frying add a little seasoning bearing in mind the seasoning used in boiling the gizzard and chicken because the stock would be used in the preparation of the gizz-dodo.

5 After stir frying, the  next thing is to make the sauce for the gizz-dodo. So in a fry pan, add some vegetable oil depending on the quantity of the plantaina and the gizzard you plan to use. After the oil has been heated, add the grounded tomato and pepper, allow it to fry till it's almost dry.
6. Then you add the stock to it, and taste it. At this point you decide if you need to add more seasoning or if it's just fine. Allow that to boil for a while and then add the chicken, gizzard and plantain and the stir-fried pepper and spring onion and then cover for about 5minutes and just like that Gizz-dodo is ready.
                                              Yummy!!!

It's very easy to prepare, let me know if you have any questions concerning the recipe or preparation in the comment section or you can send me a mail and I will be glad to respond. Also I apologise for my poor pictorial, I didn't decide on time if I was going to blog about it. I would do better next time.

I love you for visiting my blog today,
XoXo,
Ifealako.
